Museum District in Houston Texas

Museum District

The Museum District is one of Houston's most iconic areas - a neighborhood whose appeal extends to more than just its collection of exhibits and galleries.

Houston's Museum District is home to a thriving urban community. Its reputation as one of Houston's best neighborhoods rests on its beautiful real estate, pedestrian-friendly streets and ideal location in the heart of Houston's inner loop.

Highway59/Interstate 69 and the Highway 288 make up its northeast corner borders.

The Museum District is nestled between the Texas Medical Center to the south and Midtown to the north, which, in turn, is adjacent to downtown. This proximity to the city's key areas makes the district a very coveted area.

The district's museums, galleries and cultural areas showcase the art, history and traditions of people from all walks of life. Works serve to break the walls of gender, race and ideology.

But these aren't the only things that residents have come to love about this neighborhood. They also enjoy:

  • Walkable streets. This is a welcome contrast to the traditionally vehicle-dependent image of Houston.
  • Bike-friendly roads. Pedal power gets residents around the neighborhood. There are Houston B-cycle stations located near key MetroRail stops.
